The was my first time boarding the River Queen. It was a cool experience. We listened to live music and received education about AuSable, such as it is 1 of 2 completely spring fed rivers in Michigan. They offered concession type food on the first level, which for the most part, seem to be reasonably priced. We sat on the 2nd level of the boat, and enjoyed mixed drinks and wine. The scenery is so beautiful. I can't imagine what it would look like in the fall. Anyways, its totally worth it and only takes up 2 hours of your day!!

We went on this boat and tour last week. It was worth every penny we spent & then some! The captain is very knowledgeable on the history of the area, but the boat itself? Charming & lovely. It's been hand painted on the inside, using mainly Red, White & Blue. If you're patriotic at all, just a ride on the boat without the history is worth it. The detail used to paint things, like the anchor box, the mural in the men's bathroom, behind the bar etc. Even the docks you take off from are beautifully painted in our nation's colors. You can see how much these new owners love this boat. It's shows with the time & care it must've taken to make it so nice.i highly recommend this riverboat and tour. You'll be glad you went!
Worth It!! A live band on top, Cocktails and food served, tables to sit around with your gang upper deck. Windows and Closed in if preferred to block the wind if cold out. It rained but was Beautiful! Quit Raining and we were greeted by a double rainbow when we got off the boat. The staff and the people who are on the boat and who are helping we’re very courteous and helpful.
I made reservations on a Friday for a Sunday color tour ride at 1pm. They took my name and phone number. We drove 2 1/2 hours to get there to a note on the door that they were closed due to high winds. One, they didn't have the decency to tell me in person, they left a note. Two, they had my name and phone number and didn't have the decency to call and let me know. We weren't the only car there full unhappy people. I found them to be unorganized and unprofessional when I called to make the reservation, and even more after my long drive. We wasted time and gas money, and it could have easily been prevented, or at least they could have caught me before we got all of the way there.
Great time. Great people, went first time last year and came back again this year for the free Friday and absolutely loved the live band. Our group had a great time both times. Captain Roger is a great host and his family/staff are so accommodating and friendly! Definitely recommend!!
Had a one man band and he was very talented. Been on the boat for 17 years. Was something different to do while in Tawas. Worth a visit for sure. Fall colors would've been cool to see as well.
